Can we get married on the beach in the sand?
Absolutely Yes. Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts offer several locations at each resort and the beach is always an option. During your consultation, your Wedding Consultant at the resort will show you the possible locations and help you pick the perfect one for you.
I only see Sandals Resorts mentioned. Do all the questions below apply to Beaches Resorts?
Absolutely Yes. Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts have the same policies. You can replace Sandals Resorts with Beaches Resorts in all the questions and answers below.
Who is my wedding consultant?
You will actually have a team of consultants. Your Honeymoons, Inc. agent will assist you, along with wedding co-ordinators at the Sandals Resorts properties.
What are the wedding sites on property?
Most properties offer a beach, a garden and a gazebo location. The location is your choice. It can be as private or public as you wish.
What is the flavor of the wedding cake?
You have a choice of vanilla, chocolate or Caribbean fruit.
Can we get married in our bathing suits?
No. Sundresses and shorts are acceptable. Beachwear is not considered acceptable by the marriage officers that perform the ceremonies.
What is the best way to travel with a wedding dress?
Any arrangement for transportation of a wedding dress should be discussed directly with your airline carrier. To find easy to travel with, lightweight dresses, check out the lovely dresses designed exclusively for Sandals Resorts at www.dessy.com. Honeymoons Inc. recommends you treat your dress as a carry-on item. Check-In nice and early and board the plane early and have the flight attendant hang your dress for you.
Does the resort offer a steaming or pressing service for the wedding dress?
There are off property services that will handle the steaming of the dress. Prices are determined on the size, detail and material of the dress.
When do we meet our Wedding Consultant?
You will receive a letter from the Wedding Consultant during check-in informing you of your interview time with your consultant, which typically takes place within the first two days of arrival.
Why are specific occupations required for the bride and groom?
Specific occupations are required in order to process the marriage license, as they will be stated on your marriage certificate.
Do we need to hand carry our documents to the resort?
Original documents are required to be hand carried when going to any Sandals Resorts in the Bahamas, Antigua, Turks & Caicos and St. Lucia. You do not need to hand carry documents to Sandals Resorts in Jamaica.
If I am a U.S. Citizen, do I need to have a U.S. Passport to travel to the Caribbean or will my birth certificate or naturalization papers be sufficient?
U.S. Citizens must have a passport. Non - US citizens should contact the airline regarding the specific entry requirements that apply to their nationality.
Can we bring our own wedding music?
Each Sandals Resort provides a limited selection of music; however you are more than welcome to bring your own CD’s.
Can we rent tuxedos at Sandals Resorts?
Tuxedo rentals are not offered on property; however some resorts have contact information for local formalwear providers. Keep in mind, you are traveling to a resort with Caribbean climates and may want to consider light weight alternatives. Honeymoons, Inc. recommends you bring your tuxedo with you if you choose to wear one. Your local formal wear shops will have more choices and they don't charge much more for a weekly rental. Once you arrive on the island, renting a tuxedo is time consuming and won't save you any money. It's worth mentioning one more time, stay away from black wool tuxedos.
If the wedding is free, why am I supposed to make a deposit in 7 days?
As long as you are booking more than 7 days out and you qualify for the free wedding package, a deposit is not required.
Is the wedding a legal marriage, recognized in our state and/or country?
Yes, the marriage is a legally binding marriage. You should inquire with your local government regarding name change procedures, etc.
When will I receive my marriage certificate?
Your marriage certificate will be sent via air courier 12-14 weeks after your wedding.
Why would I pay for a cocktail reception or a wedding dinner or a rehearsal dinner, when all meals and drinks are included?
If your wedding party goes to a bar or a restaurant and orders a drink or dinner, no charges apply. If you want to arrange a special seating for dinner or a private cocktail reception, charges will apply. For example, standard private cocktail receptions start at $15 per person. Private dinner arrangements start at $50 per person.
Can I get live music for my wedding?
Yes, below are the music options available in Jamaica. The price and availability of options vary slightly by island.

Yes, they have several packages and you can choose spa treatments a la carte also. Below is one of the popular spa wedding packages.

Yes, of course. Two very popular enhancements are a sand ceremony and lighting the Unity Candle.
What are some other special touches we can add?
Private car transfers for the bride and groom are always a nice touch. Room decorations are popular. Small and large groups often book a group tour or a catamaran cruise.
Where can I get more details on extras?
Once you reserve your wedding date and time, we'll send you a pdf file via email that is approximately 20 pages long.
Can I have wedding guests in Jamaica staying elsewhere, come to my wedding at the Sandals Resort?
Yes, Sandals has special day pass and evening pass rates. These pass rates allow guest to come on the Sandals properties for the wedding and enjoy all of Sandals facilities. Keep in mind that children aren't allowed. We have had a few cases where the general manager has approved a child on property for the ceremony only. We highly recommend that if you want someone under 18 on the property for the wedding, choose a Beaches Resort. Third party vendors for services offered by Sandals Resorts, for example, photographers are strictly prohibited.
